Cultivating Compassion for the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Child: Shifting Our Stance from Moral Indictment to Empathy

Rancine Conway, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and Professor and Chair of Psychology at the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. She has published books and articles on ADHD treatment. She also supervised doctoral and undergraduate students who were conducting research on ADHD. Dr. Conway, along with her colleagues, was instrumental in the establishment of the Derner Hempstead Child Clinic – a satellite clinic in Hempstead offering psychotherapy services to children from underserved minorities who are experiencing great difficulty in their homes and schools. She is currently the clinic’s clinical director and supervises new therapists in empathic child treatment.
