Apathy is one of those mental states that can be very debilitating. It’s not like you care about anything. It can be described as a reduced desire to engage in goal-directed activities within 3 domains: Interest, Initiative, and Emotional responsiveness.

A flow state is a state of positive mental health where you are fully engaged in challenging activities but not so difficult that you feel like you have complete control. This can help you overcome apathy. How wired you are will determine what you can do to achieve a flow state. You can get some ideas from the Flow Genome Project assessment.
