Why You Spend Time On Things You Don’t Care About

How do you know what matters? What are you passionate about? What are your core values? What would they be able tell you? If you hadn’t already considered this, it’s likely that you wouldn’t. This is not because you lack values. You have things that are important to you. These things may not be top of your mind if you are like most people.

If you don’t have a clear understanding of the issues, it is easy to get lost in tasks or responsibilities you don’t care about. Unintentionally, you can do a poor job because your heart isn’t in the right place. You are more likely to worry about what other people think and expect of you if you don’t have a solid foundation in your values. Knowing your values will help you to care less about the opinions and values of others. It’s not to be indifferent about other people’s opinions. The goal is to make their opinions less important.
